Welcome to the Surveillance Industrial Complex
A US research report "Social Credit Market by Physical and Cyber Infrastructure" was published in December 2021 which lays out a disturbing roadmap for global totalitarianism on the road to the complete elimination of human freedoms and liberty which is aiming to go mainstream by 2026.
We have a far more narrow window of opportunity for fighting this than any of us previously thought and it needs to be ideologically assessed and theoretically located in relation to new UK legislation and shifts in the roles and functions of key government departments and the military: many of which define sections of native populations as the new enemy via ambiguous legal language concerning what can be defined as either 'extremism' or 'domestic terrorism'.
Ultimately what is at stake here is the ability of a government or an effective ruling conglomeration of corporate entities to determine the difference between a valid political or critical opposition and 'extremism' or 'domestic terrorism'. The scope of abuse of this ambiguity is such that any critical appraisal of government/corporate policy at all will automatically be identified as being extremist or belonging to the category of 'domestic terrorism'.
The report itself comes at around £2000 for an individual read but luckily the abstract is more than enough to determine precisely what the full text will say. As the report points out "This is the only report of its type to assess market opportunities for infrastructure support of the social credit market" so this is the first time that this totalitarian phenomenon has ever been explicitly outlined as a 'market opportunity' which enables us to connect the dots as to how it fits with numerous recent political and legislative developments which have accelerated since the Covid-19 pandemic catalyst.
As a jumping in point: take a few minutes to digest this series of bullet points which tells you everything you need to know.
The COVID-19 pandemic has facilitated substantial interest in citizen monitoring solutions
Infrastructure to support social credit systems represents a $16.1B global opportunity by 2026
Cameras and other optical equipment for social credit systems will reach $723M globally by 2026
Advanced computing will be used in conjunction with AI to provide nearly flawless identification and tracking
Various forms of biometrics will be used for identity verification as well as verifying the presence/location of people
Starting as tangential to public safety and homeland security, the social credit market becomes mainstream by 2026
Social credit systems represent the ability to identify (mostly people but also some “things”) and track activities for purposes of grading behaviors and applying “social credit” scoring. A given grading/scoring methodology depends largely on social credit system objectives and metrics.
What interesting wording here. The Covid19 pandemic has 'facilitated' substantial interest in 'citizen monitoring solutions'. We always knew that Covid would be seized upon to initiate totalitarian measures but its nice to see this admitted in such a nonchalant manner. The complete totalitarian monitoring of citizens is now a solution and clearly democracy, freedom and civil liberties are the problem this 'solution' seeks to redress. What is most depressing is that human freedom and civil liberties are going to be auctioned off for a mere $16 billion of corporate spoils. That is a complete insult to all of those who died in two world wars fighting for these very freedoms.
Notice that whilst commentators on the Chinese social credit system refer to it as as government based 'system' we now see the subtle shift in thinking about this as a highly lucrative 'social credit market' opportunity to be put out to tender to the usual corporate suspects.
Highly developed social credit systems are going to be outsourced to corporations as a private sector backdoor to the fascist roll out of a complete totalitarian surveillance market impacting every level and sphere of human existence and all of this is to be rendered as technologically inevitable within the grand enlightenment narrative of technological and technocratic 'progress'. In many ways all of this rests upon a suspicious proposition that human freedom and liberties only existed because we previously lacked the technology to eliminate them.
The ambitions of the grand narratives of modernism such as Marxism and Communism in Soviet Russia and National Socialism in Germany pale in comparison to the ambitions and scope of the Grand Narrative of the WEF's 'Great Reset', especially when one observes how thoroughly these aims have been interwoven into so many different disciplines and topics from the war on terror to Covid-19 to climate change.
As we can see this is destined to be pushed through via the alibis of public safety and national security or for the 'greater good': the central concept totalitarian regimes have always appealed to in justifying the terrors they are prepared to unleash on their people.
So if we consider an apparently innocuous recent name change in public health being that of the change from 'Public Health England' to that of the 'UK Health & Security Agency' it becomes clear how this shift from a notion of a system designed to promote and protect an individual's health in favour of a focus on national or homeland security had been mapped out far in advance of this new explicit declaration of what all the legislative and policy changes will lead to under the general rubric of the greater good which has been a central foundation of all Covid-19 propaganda from lockdowns to mass 'vaccination' strategies.
What we also need to flag up is that this is not a strictly government based application of totalitarianism as they do not possess the skills or knowledge to even implement the most simple of IT systems. No: this totalitarianism is be put out to tender amongst the private corporate sector who will essentially own, operate, develop and police it. It would be incredibly naïve to assume in these circumstances that government will be able to retain any 'democratic' control of such an outsourced and distributed 'system' even in the unlikely event that they wished to do so.
You cannot get any closer to Mussolini's definition of fascism as being a political/economic enterprise based upon a symbiotic relationship between the roles and functions of government and those of multi-national corporations. There is no shortage of sociopathic, corporate psychopaths who are willing to implement all of this for Neoliberal profits.
